A 30-year-old Filipino man with short messy black hair suddenly wakes up in a luxurious bedroom. He sits upright on a large queen-size bed, looking confused and frightened. Elegant furniture, expensive curtains, warm bedside lamps and luxurious decorations surround them. The bedroom looks beautiful but strangely unsettling. Strong black outlines, muted cream, brown and gray colors. No photorealism, no 3D, no text, no speech bubbles.

Comic title: The Mongering. Page 3: THE INTERVIEW THAT NEVER HAPPENED.

Panel 1: A coffee shop. Douglas and Lena across a table. He replays the neighbor's words for her, gently. Douglas (speech balloon): "Say it back to me. Exactly how she said it."

Panel 2: The uncloaking rendered visually: the neighbor's normal speech balloon — "It's not my fault, I'm just saying what I heard." — and beneath it a dark translucent echo-balloon, the undertone laid bare: the rumor with no source, the blame passed hand to hand, the envy underneath. Show the dark echo-balloon clearly.

Panel 3: Lena staring at the echo-balloon. Recognition, then anger, then grief. Lena (speech balloon): "I gave up my bakery over... gossip?"

Panel 4: Lena on the phone, standing tall for the first time in the issue. Lena (phone): "The Elm Street space — is it still open? ...Smaller? Good. I'll take smaller." Caption: "Not the door. A door."

Rin, reincarnated into the world of Pokémon, beat Pokémon ZA, along with several other Pokémon games before being reincarnated into the Pokémon world. He had access to all the Pokémon he collected over the years. He had access to Pokémon Home. More importantly, he reincarnated in Pallet Town, and he remembered all the Pokémon he caught over the years. He had the legendary birds, the legendary dogs, Kyogre, Groudon, Lugia. He had collected all the legendaries from every game, including Mew, Mewtwo. However, this time he was thinking about using a complete fossil team: his Kabutops, his Helix fossil, his Tyrantrum fossil. He had a lot of fossil Pokémon to choose from. His parents offered to get him a starter. He said no need. He had one in mind and chose Armaldo as his starter, which his Armaldo is a five-star Armaldo, perfect IVs, EVs, and an absolute powerhouse. Also it was level five, but he needed to go over to Professor Oak's to get the Pokédex. No open quotes, just full one story.

Panel 1: Dark noir graphic-novel illustration, rain-soaked fictional American city, heavy shadows, cold blue-teal palette with warm amber streetlight accents. Ordinary people, ordinary streets. Title: The Group Chat
Main Concept

A group of Grade 12 friends appears constantly connected through their group chat, sharing jokes, school updates, and everyday conversations. However, the comic reveals the contrast between what they say online and what they are actually experiencing in private.

The story explores how people can be surrounded by communication yet still struggle to express what they genuinely feel. Instead of portraying technology as the enemy, the work focuses on the gap between being connected and being understood.

The central idea is:

Sometimes the person who says “I'm fine” is the person who most needs someone to ask again.

Contemporary Issue

Mental and emotional struggles among students, particularly the difficulty of expressing them in an increasingly digital and academically demanding environment.

This connects strongly to Grade 12 students because academic pressure, expectations about the future, social relationships, and constant online communication can all affect students' emotional well-being.
THE MONGERING — PAGE 20: THE LINE. A single full-page noir comic composition in black-and-white with teal and amber accents, rainy noir cinematic look. Use the uploaded character reference for Douglas — a man with short dark hair and a beard, wearing a dark suit.

Full-page composition: Douglas in the rain, foreground, turned toward the empty edge of frame. Behind him the stagnant city, blurred figures, shuttered shops. A chimney smoke curl. Everything normal. Nothing right.

Captions placed across the page, rendered exactly as written:
"Nobody can say when it started. That's the worst part."
"But tonight, one man is listening."
"The city holds its breath. Douglas holds the line."
"One person. One decision. One rescue at a time."

Final line at the bottom of the page: "THE MONGERING WILL CONTINUE..."

Render all caption text exactly as written, with perfect spelling.

Small SFX text in the panel: "hiss… gone."

Panel 4: Same noir style. The empty street where the bus was. Marcus still standing there. A clock on the bus shelter reading 5:17 — plain background set dressing, not emphasized. Caption box: "Missed opportunity #1."
